A spatialised information system to support decisions regarding grazing management in mountainous and Mediterranean rangelands

Agro-sylvo-pastoral systems are common around the Mediterranean Basin, where they provide a variety of goods and services to local populations. Their sustainability relies on efficient grazing management, especially in rangelands. The diversity pastoral resources, combined with management techniques farming objectives, has slowed down development digital tools assist these conditions. However, technologies could serve agro-sylvo-pastoral farms by improving efficiency reducing difficulty associated work. In this objective, take into account situations, we suggest developing an information system (IS) based (contextualised) complementary data. For southern France, following data can be combined: Sentinel 2 images, Registre Parcellaire Graphique (RPG), OSO land use cover, RGE Alti altimetry data, technical references, herd GPS location feedback from farmers. designing implementing such IS requires overcoming methodological limitations concerning integration heterogeneous structured unstructured definition meaningful ways combine them produce relevant insights for decision-making. article, describe approach spatialised aimed at providing farmers support decisions regarding mountainous was codesigned stakeholders, including farmers, best match their needs facilitate its farm management. various stakeholders were involved choosing types and, defining functions conceptual model IS.
